Happy Birthday Nana!!!

Today is the birthday of one of the very most important people in my life. I am the person I am today because of the guidance of her. There is no way possible way I could have survived the last 10 years of life without this God-fearing woman. She has made such a huge difference in my life. I am so glad my children will know her, they are so lucky. I am thankful everyday for you, Nana!! Thank you for every single thing you have done for me and my family. We are who we are today because of you! I love you so much!! Happy Birthday!!

In 100 years.....

Audrey Kate came home from school last week, it was like any other day. I started looking through her folder, when she pulled a paper out of her backpack. She took it out and said she had forgotten to give it to me for the last couple of days. Honestly, I was scared thinking she had gotten in trouble or something of the sort. I unfolded the piece of paper realizing it was one of the most amazing and precious things I would ever read.

In 100 years, I would like to go to heaven.
I would like to go in 100 years.
I will be older then I was before.
I will die in 100 years.
I would like to meet God in heaven.
I love God with all of my heart.
I will be very happy.
It will be good.
I will be with God.
I will be with my family.
I cannot even begin to describe to you the emotion that took over my body. When her classmates were writing about flying cars and bicycles, AK was thinking of eternity. How blessed am I? This child continues to amaze me with her kindness, her gentleness, and her heart. She is such a blessing. I am so proud of her for so many reasons, but most of all for her love for the Lord.
The picture of the day for this day was supposed to be of handwriting. I cannot imagine any better handwriting than that of a child.
Thank you Lord for the blessing of Audrey Kate.

Feb.21: FAVORITE PICTURE OF YOU
This is def. not my favorite picture. If I could pick any picture it would be a picture from my childhood. I do however, love this picture. We took it before we made our very first salt dough ornaments. This is a tradition we hope to keep for many years.
Feb 22: THE PLACE I WORK
I am so beyond blessed to be able to stay home with my girls. I've got some pretty demanding bosses, but the best ever.
Feb. 23: SHOES
I have been accumulating some major hours in these kicks. As I am writing this, I can hardly move my legs.
Feb. 24: INSIDE YOUR BATHROOM CABINET
I first thought this was quite strange to be taking a picture of such things. It then occurred to me I could tell you about something I am really loving. First, this is super embarrassing so bare with me. I have issues with deodorant, I have for many years. I hate to smell someone's deodorant, and I can always smell mine. I have always been self conscience about this. Every time I have to buy some I try something different, with the hope I can find something that works. I saw a commercial about some that supposedly worked better the more you move. I was intrigued and thought I would try it. While at Target, among 100's of deodorants sat this thing I thought could change my life. It is expensive, like ridiculous. I took it out of my basket several times before I just bought it. Ok, it's like $12 but for deodorant, that's expensive. Let me tell you, IT WORKS!!!! I am so excited!! You know me, when I like something I tell everyone and do my best to convince them to use it. The longer you wear it, the better it smells. Worth every penny!!
Feb. 25: GREEN
Yesterday, I had to attend a class for the key spouse program at the AFB. It was all day, and I learned so much! They did drawings for prizes and I won this fern as well as a gerber daisy. I never win, it made my day!!
Here are some random pictures from our week. The 2 crazies in our family!
Since HG has had an ear infection and Madelynn a URI, we have been low key. We finally got out of the house to get one of our favorite little girl's a bday present. MP thought she needed her picture taken.
The weather here has been insane. Hot and humid. Can you tell
by someone's hair?

10 Months

Oh this little princess!! I love her so, so much!! She is really turning into a "little person" these days. I love it, although I kinda want my baby back!!
I think her eyes are finally changing :( They seem to change based on what she is wearing but seem to be the prettiest of greens.
Her hair, well it is slowly coming in. The good news is, is that it is curling around her ears.
She still only has her bottom two teeth.
She is now only taking bottles, eating baby food, and some table food. No more mama :(
She still doesn't sleep. I know she will, but soon would be nice!
Her new thing is saying hi and waving to every single person who crosses her path.
I love this girl!!

HG had her first ear infection this month. Sweet girl tried to tell me for 2 days!! We did lots of laying around because she just really didn't feel good. She was weighed at the dr. so we have an official 10 month weight. 25.8lbs!!! You better believe it!!

Do you see the curls?
We finally got out of the house today, finally. It was absolutely gorgeous!! I am so blessed!!

Lets play catch up

I know I have been MIA. I just happened to have a birthday over the weekend, and it was wonderful. Let me start back at the beginning. Mike and my friend Meggan had planned a big dinner for a big group of us to celebrate my special day. Thursday evening my 2 littles got sick. Mike took them to the walk-in the next morning, and left with antibiotics and breathing treatments. We canceled the dinner, and I have to admit I was very sad. Since there would be no going anywhere Meggan and her husband came over and we had dinner. It was kinda nice to celebrate with great friends and stay in my sweats :) On Saturday (my actual bday), Meggan took me to get a manicure and have lunch while daddy held down the house. Saturday evening, she came back over and watched the girls so Mike and I could go to the movies. It was a wonderful weekend filled with love, phone calls, texts, and fb messages!! I am so lucky!!

Feb 17:TIME
This represents the amazing TIME I had for my birthday!! Belinda, Memaw, and Grano and Grandad sent me cards. Thank you!! Meggan and Robert brought me this awesome cake and balloons. Look how cute bday dessert is at PF Changs!! It was some amazing carrot cake!
Feb 18: DRINK
I realize you can't see this very well, it's a DP at the movies. It was delicious!! I haven't been drinking any soda for quite a while, so this was a special treat!!
Feb. 19: SOMETHING YOU HATE TO DO
My laundry situation is completely OOC!!!
Just because: Audrey reacting when Mike showed her the pizza lunchables he found on clearance. She has been begging for these for months. This picture cracks me up!! She is jumping up and down! Poor HG!
Madelynn takes my phone any chance she can sneak it away. Here is one of her pictures :)

New Phone

I bet you thought I got a new phone, didn't you? Come on, admit it (mom)!! I sat here for 10 minutes trying to think of a title for this post, nothing. This was the best I could do. The challenge pictures for yesterday and today are of your phone and something new, hence the title. I pictured my mom and dad sitting down to read the blog. Here is the reaction I imagined (and I know this is how it will go). "Ah, Jama got a new phone !?", said mom. "No she didn't", said dad. I know them so well!

Feb. 15: PHONE
There are two things I would like for you to notice about this picture of my phone. 1. If you look in the top left hand corner you will notice a dirty spot. Well, it's hair color and it's driving me nutso!! 2. Do you see my cute new wall paper? I downloaded this cute freebie!! You can find instructions on how to get your own at this great site.
Feb. 16: SOMETHING NEW
Aren't they so pretty? Mike got them for me for Valentines. He gets major, major props!! He went on my Pinterest board of the things I really like and found them. Isn't that just precious?!? I love him!!
Just because I love all of you, you get to see another new thing. My hair. I got the back combing brush involved and now, I love it!! Sorry for complaining!!
Mike also got me these beautiful flowers that I did not include in my Vday post. I am such a lucky girl!!!

LOVE

My morning started at 5:45 and the day before had ended just a couple of hours earlier. Mike wakes up at that time everyday so it was nice to get up and spend time with him without little children at our feet. I got up and put their baskets together and put breakfast on the table.
This is MP's basket. The bandaids should have given you the clue. I just don't understand why this child loves bandaids?
Breakfast consisted of Krispy Kreme and strawberry milk. My original plan was to make to get up and make pancakes, and then I got real.
AK's basket. I got her pencils that don't have to be sharpened. We have probably 50+ pencils that need to be sharpened, with no eraser, and I find it quite annoying.
AK's lunch: strawberries, yogurt with glitter sprinkles, and a ham and cheese sandwich with a painted heart :)
Here are the treats I was telling you about for Audrey's class. I cut out these 50 hearts and stapled them together, filling them with candy.
Final product, I was pretty happy with the result!!
Let me explain this picture. Last week, we got a note home with the favorite candy, drink, and flower of pretty much every employee from AK's school. Sorry teacher friends, but in my opinion that is a little excessive. AK didn't even know half of the people on the list. They asked us to send these things for Valentine's Day. I went down the list and asked AK who she would like to take something to, she came up with just a few. Be proud dad, you know me, I usually would send it to everyone!!
Sleepy head :)
This girl was excited for school!!
How could I forget this sweet precious?! She got a ball and a book.
All ready for school. I should have a taken a close up picture of her shirt, my first sewing project. :)
While I was baking up a storm, Madelynn sat and made some pictures for me. I must say, I was super impressed. These pictures are of snowmen :)

This is why I don't cook.
This is why I am glad I try. :) These melt aways were to die for!! You can find their recipe here.
After I finished all the cookies I asked Madelynn to take a plate to our next door neighbors. This is the picture of the plate she took.
They were not home. This is the picture of the plate when Madelynn came home. Lesson learned, take them myself.
Madelynn and her Vday lunch.
The girls got another car in the mail today. Thank you so much Memaw!! Gotta love great grandparents!!
Later in the evening, we had dinner at the commander's house. Let me set this up, I am a Key Spouse. Key Spouses are a group of women who organize events for the squdron, and do things to help spouses of those who are deployed. I wish I could define this better because it really is an amazing thing. It's a lot of work, but so rewarding. Last night, the commander and his family hosted a dinner for the Key Spouses, their families, and also the families of those who are deployed. We were asked to bring dessert, so I made the melt aways and a banana pudding. We had an absolute blast!!

LtC and Mrs. King, our gracious hosts.
An attempt at a Vday picture.
Little Miss and her Valentine.
Overall, we had a great day!! It was extremely long. I didn't write about making the girls bows(see above), getting my hair done, etc. Let's talk about my hair. I had to go straight to the dinner from my appt., and honestly I thought about just driving home. It was a new place so I was nervous to begin with. I told her I wanted my hair to just be the color of my roots all over (to cover the gray). Yep, I said it GRAY!!! It is quite sad. Anyway, she told me I probably didn't want my natural color because it was the darkest color on the chart. Really? I told her just to go 2 steps down. The color is great, Mike loves it!! I showed her a picture of how I wanted it styled (the day I had HG). Lets just say this girl has no idea how to backcomb!! You know me, I like my pouf!! I left looking like a girl from CA and not a girl from the south! I couldn't get home to my backcombing brush quick enough!! My mr didn't let me down, of course!! Best part, he let me get a head start on sleep and put the girls to bed. Well, my house is officially screaming at me! Lots of recovering from yesterday :)
