The end of an amazing place

The weekend following the 4th my uncle and grandfather decided they would go to the last launch at the Kennedy Space center. I decided that was a great opportunity for me to go and spend some time with my grandmother so she wouldn't be lonely. Mike was in the middle of leadership school so this would be an awesome chance for him to get some work done without little girls screaming all around him. We had a great time doing a bunch of nothing. We sat around and visited most of the time because it was so hot to spend must time outside. When we were outside the girls swam in the pool ( a horse trough), I can't believe I got no pictures of it! I think it is so awesome my gf and uncle got to go to Florida and experience such an amazing thing. I had chills all over when the shuttle took off. Such an amazing part of history!

Super annoyed at me taking her picture! She was so hot!!

I think I forgot to mention

The Land of Hospitality

Well, it seems like not very long ago I was saying that I knew eventually we would be moving. Guess what? Three days later we got the news. The day Mike began leadership school he received an email saying, "Congratulations on your new assignment to Joint Base Charleston." Congratulations, I do not think so!! I cannot even describe the emotion that came over me when Mike called. I felt like I couldn't breathe, see, nothing. I was a bawling mess, threw my kids in the car and drove to my parents house. My mom opened the door, I was shaking and crying, but somehow managed to tell her the news. My mom reacted exactly how I thought she would, she hugged me and told me everything would be ok. At that moment, I knew it would. It has been about a month since we got this news and I can say today I am beyond excited to go to Charleston. I know it will be a major adjustment but I am up for the challenge!! Much more to come on this news!!

God Bless America and Happy Birthday!!

The Fourth of July happens to be a big day in my family's house. Not only is it the birthday of our nation, but the birthday of my grandmother and Mike. The past couple of years we have spent the fourth in Lufkin with my dad's family but this year stayed home because of everyone's busy schedule. We of course went to the neighborhood parade, had ice cream, and had lunch at mom and dad's. We were so lucky that J and InaBeth were able to come down since J has been studying his little self silly!! It was a great day, always one of my favorites :)

This girl is growing

So, this is a little late. Hadlee Grace turned 2 months old on 20 June.
2 month check up:
A whopping 13 lbs., 90th percentile,
22 in., 40th percentile (I think),
head, 80th percentile,
hemangioma(birth mark) on head,
small umbilical hernia,
1 oral vaccination and 3 immunizations.
Everything looked great, and Dr. W said I should be proud of myself for her weight gain :)
I love this girl!!

The Garden

I have to start by saying I really cannot take much credit for this garden, at all. This has been my dads new "baby" over the last couple of months, it just happens to be at my house. I have helped as well as the girls, it has been somewhat of a family project. It has been unbelievable to watch it go from seed to what it is now. It has not been such a great summer to have a garden due to the fact we have had NO rain. We have managed to get a few vegetables and they have been delicious!!

banana peppers
bell peppers
squash
green beans
okra

Hey Batter, Batter!!!

Over the last few weeks we have been spending a lot of time at the baseball field. Our preacher's son, Zane was on the Wylie All Stars team and we braved the heat to see almost every game. I watch Mike at these games and wonder what goes through his head. His love for baseball is one like I have never seen. He says its ok that he'll be attending soccer games and ballets. :)
