Celebrating Dad

We have done a lot of celebrating our daddy in the last month or so.  I must say, Pinterest gets most of the credit for the creativeness.

We hung this awesome sign on the front door.  It could be possible that it just came down a couple of days ago.

My sweet girl made this for her daddy.

We put together this basket of some of his favorites.

On the fourth of July, this wonderful man turned 30.  The expression on his face pretty much sums up how he feels about turning 30.

I stayed up way too late the night before making these shirts for my sweet girls.

Have I told you how much I love the Spritz party line at Target?  Seriously, I want to plan parties all the time because it is too cute!

My life.

Mr. Wonderful is not so much a sweets man.  He does love my mother's blueberry banana pie though.  I just so happened to learn how to make one the day before.  I think he may have been floored.
We love you, Mr. Wonderful!!  We are so lucky to call you ours!

Downtown

A couple of weeks ago, Mike's mom came to visit for a long weekend.  I have wanted to get my hands on these cookies below.  The woman who makes them lives in Sugar Land and does not ship.  You better believe I asked Sharon if she would mind picking some up for us.  I have got to convince Ambre to ship!  SN: crazy story!!  When I first discovered Jolie Delights I noticed the phone # was an Abilene #.  You can only imagine how excited I was.  Turns out Ambre also went to ACU and married a Dyess boy.  Small world, huh?  If you live in the Houston area, check her out.  Not only are these things the cutest ever, but they are simply delicious!

While Sharon was here we ventured downtown.  That place never disappoints.  One day I am determined to spend more time there.

Isn't she sweet?

Downtown city market

The flowers are gorgeous.  I know this is a strange picture, but I had to show you how much this place takes pride in their "landscaping".  This was a Best Western, nothing fancy but the flowers in front of every room were breathtaking.

Brunch at Toast.  Yum!!

We decided to have a crazy hair day, well because I needed a day of nothing.  Can you tell?

Library with a side of firetruck

This summer our base library has special events for children.  A couple weeks back the base fire dept. visited the library and had a great little presentation.  Score!!  Two great things all in one location.

I must tell you about this dress the girls are both wearing.  Maybe I am a little crazy, well a lot crazy but anyway.  I saw a little girl wearing this dress at the zoo and may have been stalking her to see the tag and where she got it from.  Lucky for me that middle stripe is light and I could see that wonderful word printed on the inside of the dress, Circo.  Target!!  I couldn't believe it!  I also cannot believe that MP can wear clothes in the "big girl" section.  Tear.

This girl loved that dog.

We had lunch at this little joint people here in SC are going crazy about.  Chipotle.  So glad to have a little bit of home in our backyard.

We finished the day at the pool.  Look how precious this girl is!

I had 3 exhausted girls at the end of the day.  I have to admit, their mama might have been the most worn out.

Life

Isn't it crazy how life gets in the way of our plans sometimes?  I had the greatest plans for us this summer.  I had a sch. for us to follow everyday and so many great intentions.  I am slowly learning that life with 3 children is an adventure, and one that cannot be planned.  My bucket list of activities stares at me every night, and I feel like each thing is yelling, "Pick me!!".  I am determined to get this list checked off, even if there are 25 more things we need to do.  For now, you can enjoy these pictures of the things we have done.

Found this BRAND NEW set of Harry Potter books for AK.  Excited is an understatement!

Picking up laundry.

By the end of this post, you will discover how bad I feel for the lack of pictures of HG in the previous post.

Sweet precious

Oh goodness!  One day, Mike was taking a nap, well, because someone doesn't sleep real great at night.  I walked in our room and was quite surprised to find him with beautiful glistening lips.  I could not stop laughing!  I knew exactly how it got there!  When I asked MP why she would do that, she informed me she was just trying to make him more beautiful.  HA!

These girls got a huge surprise one evening from their daddy.  He took the 3 of them to the All Star game for the minor league we have here.  Let's just say they left after the national anthem.  No more baseball without 2 parents and a bottle.

Seen this before?  Thank goodness for naps, even if it is in the car!

I painted my nails for the OKC Thunder.  It didn't work.  I tried.

This girl is an absolute fish!

One night, I was extremely brave, no pun intended.  I took all 3 girls to see Brave, by myself.  I went into it thinking it was a horrible idea and we would never make it to the end.  Greatest movie experience ever!  HG slept the entire time and the girls loved the movie.  I thought it was a little heavy for kids, but ok.
We are having a wonderful summer, even if it is going a little different than we had planned.
I think I will go and stare at the "bucket list" and figure out how in the world I can make this happen.
So long for now!

A trip to the zoo

When moving to Charleston, I was super disappointed to find out that their was no zoo.  Although the Abilene zoo is small, we had a membership, and went as often as possible.  I began researching, because I knew the girls would be so disappointed to not have a zoo nearby.  I found out there was a zoo in Columbia, the capitol, a little over 100 miles away.  Not an every month activity, but definitely doable.  Once our schedules calmed down and we were all free on the same day, we decided we would check it out.  Y'all.  It is fabulous, beyond fabulous.  Perfect size, perfect animals, and beautiful.  We will def, be visiting as often as we can.

Do you think these girls are excited?!

I love this picture.

I forgot to mention that our neighbors came along for our adventure.  We decided to find somewhere to eat before the zoo, because we knew it would be overpriced.  This, is the back of the restaurant where we ate.  Not gonna lie, by this sight I was wondering if I would be able to swallow my food.  It was absolutely delicious and well worth the 30 minute wait.

Just an example of the flowers and landscaping.  It was the most amazing I have ever seen.

I want to frame this picture!!

Watching the gorillas was our favorite.

In case you didn't know, Madelynn loves Planet of the Apes.  She calls every gorilla Caesar and even has a monkey charm on her charm bracelet.  She had to have her picture taken with "Caesar".

The kangaroo exhibit was unbelievable.  You actually got to walk down a path in their enclosure.

The girls loved being able to be so close.

My sweet girl.

One of the sidewalks was covered in baby frogs and AK finally was able to catch one.

Just plain worn out.  We ended the day at our favorite, Red Robin.  That is also something we do not have in Charleston.  Oh yeah, and HG really was with us.  I'm not exactly why she is not in pictures.

We had such an awesome day and can't wait to visit again!
